Main codes and conventions for the DPS
For the double page spread, depending on the magazine, layouts and features vary. However, in most of the magazines I looked at and the ones I fully analysed, there are some features that seem to appear in all of them:
- a main image portraying the person that is being interviewed/spoken about/ or something relating to them.
- a main cover line, that draws in the reader.
- small images to attempt to break up the text so that the reader doesn't get bored too easily
- captions underneath some of these images to anchor the image and give it meaning
